NYX Professional Makeup takes its name from Nyx, the Greek goddess of the night. Toni Ko founded it in Los Angeles in 1999, when she was 25, with a clear mission: professional-quality makeup at an accessible price. It began with makeup artists at trade shows and grew into a global favourite for creators, beauty lovers and anyone who sees makeup as self-expression. Loved for its bold lip, eye and face products and recognised as cruelty-free by PETA, NYX joined L’Oréal Groupe in 2014.
