World Wide Web Consortium

The World Wide Web Consortium (often abbreviated as W3C) is an organization whose aim is to set standards for the World Wide Web and to cooperate in the creation of standards.The Consortium was founded on October 1st,1994 by Tim Berners-Lee (who still runs it) at MIT and is composed of a full-time staff mad up of 351 members (as of 29 March 2012) which include businesses, nonprofits, universities, people and public entities.
