The Design of Everyday Things

The Design of Everyday Things

The Design of Everyday Things is a best-selling book by cognitive scientist and usability engineer Donald Norman.

The book is about designing simple objects and the reason why some objects please more their users while others frustrate them.

The book was firstly published in 1988 with a slightly different title: The Psychology of Everyday Things. Norman stated that his academic peers liked the title but they thought that the new title conveyed the message of the book better and had the power to attract more interested readers.
