Content management system

A Content Management System (CMS) is a computer program that allows publishing, editing and modifying content as well as maintenance from a central interface. Such systems of content management provide procedures to manage workflow in a collaborative environment. These procedures can be manual steps or an automated cascade. The first content management system (CMS) was announced at the end of the 1990s.

WordLift is an extension of the most widespread open source Web Content Management System: WordPress.
While traditional CMS contain only text which computers can neither understand nor evaluate, WordLift adds semantic annotations that allow a website or a blog to function as a collaborative knowledge base.
WordLift combines information publicly available as linked open data to support the editorial workflow of web publishers by suggesting relevant information, images and links.
WordLift analyses articles using Named Entity Recognition (NER). The entities may pertain to different vocabulary sets including but not limited to DBpedia, GeoNames and Freebase. WordLift also provides UIs for creating and curating custom vocabularies.
