When Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee\u2019s blogged about it back in 2007 it was clear that something was happening. <strong><a class=\"wl-entity-page-link\"  href=\"https:\/\/wordlift.io\/blog\/en\/entity\/giant-global-graph\/\" data-id=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl0216\/entity\/giant_global_graph;http:\/\/rdf.freebase.com\/ns\/m.03d220t;http:\/\/yago-knowledge.org\/resource\/Giant_Global_Graph;http:\/\/dbpedia.org\/resource\/Giant_Global_Graph\" >Giant Global Graph<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(GGG) really was a definition that he introduced to clarify how<strong> a\u00a0<\/strong><strong>web of data was emerging\u00a0<\/strong><strong>from the web of documents<\/strong>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He writes:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>\u00ab<\/strong><i>So the Net and the Web may both be shaped as something mathematicians call a Graph, but they are at <strong>different levels<\/strong>. And whichever device I use to look up the bookmark, phone or office wall, it will access a situation-appropriate view of an integration of everything I know about that flight from different sources. The task of booking and taking the flight will involve many interactions. And all throughout them, that task and the flight will be primary things in my awareness, the websites involved will be secondary things, and the network and the devices tertiary.<\/em><strong>\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>I have been following this path in the last ten years<\/strong> &#8212; really. Knowledge graphs are not just crucial for the improvement of various machine learning and cognitive computing tasks, they are at the core of leading edge organizations like Electronic Art.
