The Knowledge Panel is critical for your SEO strategy. Through it, Google provides quick and reliable information about people and brands. Getting a Knowledge Panel on Google doesn’t depend on the notoriety or popularity of a brand or person. It depends on the data. The more accurate and consistent they are, the more accessible Google will put the information together and return a perfect Knowledge Panel.

In this video, Jason Barnard, the Brand SERP Guy, shows you how to set up WordLift to trigger a Knowledge Panel by following this 3-steps process.

  • Identity your Entity Home.
  • Give Google confirmation about your brand or the person you are talking about.
  • Create an infinite, self-confirming loop.

Getting the Knowledge Panel takes time, which can be days, weeks, months. If Google already has enough information, this three-step process will provide Google with solid, authoritative guidance on putting those pieces together. In this case, your Knowledge Panel will kick in quickly, probably three to four weeks.

If the information around the web about the brand or person was contradictory, missing or poor in quality, then even when you get all three steps right, you can expect it to take about three months for Google to put the pieces together and give you your Knowledge Panel.
